An incredible new web site, born from the love and dedication of a good friend of mine - who also suffers from IBD. Jennifer Jaff is the driving force behinde Advocacy for Patients with Chronic Illness, Inc. This site provides information and assistance on Disability Insurance, Social Security Disability Income, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Health Insurance and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Jennifer is a lawyer with a heart, and a determination to help others overcome the limitations and prejudice that IBD has thrown in their way. I am proud and honored to have been a working - and ongoing - part of bringing the Advocacy site into the world - even if it was only to give it a look and a feel to present to the public through my web skills. Jennifer is the true hero, as all those she has helped can attest.



IBD Quilt Project Needs Your Help! ____________________

Aside from my own ever-evolving websites, this was one of my first projects - creating and maintaining a web-site for IBD Quilt Project, Inc. This US based, non-profit organization works at raising the publics awareness of IBD (Crohns' Disease and Ulcerative Colitis) by displaying quilts created with squares made up and sent in by people who have had their lives affected by IBD. Even though I stepped down in Spring 2007 as webmistress after 4 years of work for IQP, you can view the web-site at IBD Quilt Project, Inc.




Get Your Guts In Gear!____________________

www.ibdride.org is a 3-day, 210-mile cycling event created to raise awareness about Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and the needs of people living with ostomies. The Ride also raises funds for research, education, patient support, and advocacy work for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. I was pleased and happy to have helped the organizers of this site launch GYGIG back in 2003. For the last couple of years now the day-to-day running and design of the site has been taken over by another graphics firm based in the USA.


NaNoWriMo____________________

I joined the insanity called NaNoWriMo in 2003 and actually made the finish line! 50,000 words in the month of November - bizarre. Under my own steam I signed up again in 2004 to do it all over again.........and I made it with HOURS to spare that time!!

While the loss of my laptop precluded me joining in 2005, I was looking forward to the 2006 madness but the year itself was against me.

GrowingUpIBD ____________________

Another good cause, www.GrowingUpIBD.org - dedicated to raising awareness about Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis which affects children all over the world, and lowers their quality of life. Children affected by IBD (Crohns' and Colitis) have written their stories, explaining how IBD has affected them and their lives. The site also has a section where folks from the USA can email the American Government asking for help to raise awareness of IBD and for new research funding. I'm pleased to say that the folk behind the scenes have accepted my graphics work for their logo!


Bed & Breakfast Volendam ____________________

Another website I've had a hand in was for friends of ours in Volendam, Noord Holland who run the Bed & Breakfast "Edam-Volendam" and needed an updated website for their business. The website includes beautiful pictures of the surrounding area and information in Dutch, English, German, Spanish, French and Italian.


All of my sites are done on a volunteer basis, but they help me to learn and improve my html skills as I go along.
